Huck Does Some Shadow Ops

Huck and Tom must be insane or really greedy to be following a murderer around for some money. I guess that much money would be like $100,000 or so today. But still they're going to get one across the wind pipe or one right between the eyes if you know what I mean. Huck has way more guts than Tom. Tom would never have gone after Joe and that other guy. Maybe he would have, who knows? Huck turned into like a minature southern James Bond for a couple pages. I thought for sure Joe was going to catch Huck and hold him hostage or something. Something like that usually happens to the best friend when he's doing something brave in most books. But then again I guess Tom Sawyer is better than most books. It was kind of weird how those Welsh vigilanties (unofficial citizen cops) came into the story all the sudden. I hadn't read any thing about them until the widow chapter and then they're like U.S. Marshalls all the sudden. Going around shooting at people and making things exciting. The more understandable accents they have add more character to the book thanjust the usual southern drawl.
